Web Developer Twitter
@twitter | San Francisco
We're hiring all levels of developers!
Come join the team working to make twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com the fastest and most delightful web apps in the world. The web is a complicated ever-changing landscape of web technology, which is why we're committed as a team to teaching and sharing with each other in order to succeed. If you want to participate you should come join us!
What your team looks like:
Our inclusive team of 25 developers is composed of folks with a wide range of experience and interests. Overall we're united by our three goals:
Twitter is one of the quickest loading web apps in the world
We work closely with product to develop and experiment with new features
Our developers are highly efficient due to the care we take for our codebase
In general, we're a happy family within Twitter that has a larger than expected impact on the world.
What you'll do:
Hopefully work that both aligns with the career goals you establish with your manager and the goals of Twitter. But, generally:
Build new things and improve all parts of Twitter. If it's on twitter.com, we work on it. It's a wonderful and flexible opportunity to grow your skills.
This team also defines the web stack at Twitter. A very rich React/Redux/Node.js application is here for you to contribute to.
Develop your non-coding skills (Communication, Mentoring, Project Management, et). We want all of our developers to (eventually) be able to build and lead complex projects within a large organization.
What skills will make you successful:
Web browser knowledge (Twitter is a surprisingly complex UI)
For all applicants, we insist that you have a desire to build rich web experiences and a willingness to learn and teach others. It's also important that you understand the principles of accessibility and the importance of building accessible interfaces for users with disabilities.
