Groupon, Inc. is looking for a User Experience Researcher to join our team in Palo Alto, CA

Core Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead kick-off meetings with an energetic and enthusiastic team;
  • Responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and presenting research, in a fast-paced Agile software development environment, from early strategic direction through post-release validation;
  • Employ a wide range of research methods including strategic design research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, formative and summative usability studies;
  • Lead research projects with cross-functional stakeholders including designers, product managers, and engineers, ensuring that all stakeholders participate in the research and experience customer insights;
  • Track, communicate, and evangelize insights, goals and metrics to project teams;
  • Work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects with global, multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Design and conduct research using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including participatory design, ethnography, cultural probes, and usability testing;
  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data using XLSTAT, MAXQDA, Microsoft Excel;
  • Plan and lead cross-functional team brainstorming sessions to translate research insights into actionable product or business opportunities;
  • Communicate research findings through multi-media (e.g., videos, visual graphs, text) using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Keynote.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction or related field or foreign academic equivalent plus two years of related experience.

Experience must have included any level of experience in:

(1) Design and conduct research using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including participatory design, ethnography, cultural probes, and usability testing;

(2) Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data using XLSTAT, MAXQDA, Microsoft Excel;

(3) Plan and lead cross-functional team brainstorming sessions to translate research insights into actionable product or business opportunities;

(4) Communicate research findings through multi-media (e.g., videos, visual graphs, text) using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Keynote.
