Role Description 

The Insights team is the analytics engine behind our global sales organization. We are leveraging the power of big data to help our customers accelerate how they transform their business. As a collaborative and entrepreneurial team, we focus on finding breakthrough insights and building transformative internal products and tools, within a creative and fun environment. 

As an engineer on the Insights team, you will help build our family of internal data-driven sales and customer insights products. You will architect and build innovative applications that surface insights from this data, and that empower our sales and customer support professionals to grow the Dropbox footprint and partner with our customers to transform the way they collaborate. 

As a member of a small, entrepreneurial team, you will have unparalleled autonomy and impact in shaping the direction of our products, from both the UI and back-end architecture perspective. 


Build the future. Architect full-featured client-side applications, and develop data visualizations for customers that tease out important insights from big and complex dataBuild with customers. Know objectives, challenges, and business decisions that customers have and build visualizations for customers to help answer thoseCollaborate cross-functionally. Partner with data scientists to build data-driven tools that embed model outputs into simple, intuitive workflowsUnderstand (but never accept) the limitations of existing infrastructure. Venture to any level of abstraction and push beyond the interface if it results in a better deliverableBuild tools worthy of trust. Drive best practices in building tools that are scalable, robust, and, most importantly, secure------------ 

BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience (recent bootcamp grads most welcome!)Previous success developing and shipping web applications with a user-empathetic mindsetStrong understanding of JavaScript (ES6), HTML and CSS/SASSExperience building front end components with React using modular architectureKnowledge of state management frameworks, such a Redux or FluxDemonstrated design and UX sensibilitiesWork experience in user experience and interaction designLo-fi and hi-fi design and prototyping skills in Sketch, Invision or similarUnderstanding of NodeJS/Express------------------
