DCPI is seeking a talented and motivated front end Android/Android TV developer to join an agile group of engineers. This individual will be joining a cross-functional team to build multimedia mobile products, such as DisneyLife. This candidate will be expected to deliver quickly and iteratively in an agile environment, brainstorm solutions, and take ownership of technology solutions.

DisneyLife, a unique digital service from Disney, giving fans access to its biggest collection of Disney and DisneyPixar movies, Disney Channels TV box sets, books, and music, all in one place. For the first time, fans can enjoy Disney wherever they are, whenever they want with instant streaming and temporary downloads to enjoy offline. DisneyLife is available now to UK residents aged 18 or over on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire Tablet.

Responsibilities
  • Build and create Android, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Amazon Fire products in Java
  • Develop innovative features that are highly performant, compatible and responsive
  • Collaborate with UX, design and developers to build amazing guest experiences
  • Deliver polished projects and tasks with a precise attention to detail
  • Complete projects and tasks successfully and on time
  • Learn about and work in new technologies, languages and platformsThrive in an innovative, dynamic, collaborative and fast paced environment
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of Android application development expertise in a professional environment
  • Expert knowledge of Java, Android IDEs, and Gradle
  • Experience with FireOS
  • Adept at building beautiful interfaces in concert with a strong, working understanding of data model management
  • Experience working with RESTful API type web services
  • Experience in developing applications leveraging XML/JSON
  • Solid understanding of Data Modeling
  • Solid understand of Multi-Threaded applications
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on diverse projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, time management and logical judgmentWell-versed and active user of GitHub
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with agile/scrum tools
  • Experience with Unity
Required Education
BS in Computer Science, web development, a related technology field or equivalent experience
